The Skinny

Dates: May 17, 2025

Location: Coquina Beach, Anna Maria Island, FL

Distances: 1.2 Miles, 2.4 Miles

Stop #3 on The Speedo SALT Series takes swimmers to Anna Maria Island for the 5th Annual AMI Hogfish Swim. Laid back and natural, Anna Maria Island is known most for its seven-mile strip of white sand beaches running along the turquoise Gulf of Mexico. This hidden gem has been a favorite among the Salty Fam due to its dreamy waters and old Florida vibes.

This event will offer a 1.2-mile and 2.4-mile open water swim on Saturday, May 11th. Races are open to all skill sets. The timing for this event makes it a perfect opportunity for your first open water swim, a new distance, or as a training swim for the longer distance fall open water events and triathlons. With a unique “choose your own adventure” menu of events throughout the weekend, there is a little something for everyone. Come just for the day, or make it a race-cation. We are excited to have you!

Special thanks to our local supporters the AMI Open Water Club, Manatee County Beach Patrol, Manatee County Parks, and the Bradenton Area Sports Commission.
